About Talantali
01Why we exist
Production meets purpose.

Organizations across East Africa and beyond have powerful stories to tell — about people, progress, products and change. Too often, those stories are told generically, by teams who don’t know the language, the context or the community.
Talantali brings cultural fluency and world-class production together under one roof. We plan, shoot, voice, translate, edit and deliver — so the story arrives intact, in every language and on every screen it needs to reach.
Mission
To create media people remember — and communications that work — for organizations with something important to say.
Vision
An East African creative studio trusted worldwide for cinematic storytelling, institutional credibility and authentic perspective.
02Values
What we stand behind.
Truth
We tell stories accurately and never overstate impact. If we can't verify it, we don't say it.
Dignity
The people in our stories are partners, not props. Consent and respect come before the shot.
Craft
Light, sound, rhythm and words — every detail is considered, every frame earns its place.
Ownership
One accountable team from brief to delivery, on time and on budget.
03Creative philosophy
The world through our lens.
- Human
- Close, real, emotionally grounded.
- Cinematic
- Directional light and vivid contrast.
- Cultural
- Local perspective, global polish.
- Clear
- Less clutter. More meaning.
04How we speak
Speak with purpose.
Confident
not arrogant
Human
not corporate jargon
Culturally fluent
not generic
Precise
not exaggerated
05
Culturally authentic storytelling
We work with communities, not around them. Local knowledge shapes the questions we ask, the people we hear from, and the way a story is framed — so audiences at home recognize themselves, and audiences abroad see something true.
06
Multilingual by design
Our founder works natively in English, Somali and Amharic. Translation, voice-over, subtitling and localization are built into the production plan from day one — not bolted on at the end.
07
Responsible & ethical production
Informed consent, safeguarding, confidentiality and factual accuracy are standard on every project. We follow our clients’ safeguarding and data policies and default to protecting contributors when there is any doubt.
08End-to-end production
- 01
Discover
We listen first: your audience, objectives, constraints, approvals and the story beneath the brief.
- 02
Develop
Treatment, script, interview guides, shot lists, schedules and a clear budget — signed off before a camera rolls.
- 03
Produce
Field and studio production with consent, safeguarding and permits handled. Crew, drone and audio, on location.
- 04
Post & Localize
Edit, grade, sound, motion graphics, voice-over, subtitles and language versions — reviewed with you at every cut.
- 05
Deliver & Amplify
Masters, cut-downs, captions and transcripts in every format you need, plus a plan to get the work seen.

Founder & Creative Director
Kamil Ahmed — known to audiences as Kamil Kodhodho — is a multilingual media professional working across East Africa. He works natively in English, Somali and Amharic, combining broadcast-quality voice work, documentary filmmaking and licensed drone operations.
His practice spans voice and narration for commercials, documentaries, e-learning and radio/TV; documentary and aerial cinematography in the field; scriptwriting and editorial; and translation, subtitling and localization — partnering with NGOs, media outlets and brands.
Talantali is the next chapter: a full-service studio built on that hands-on experience, designed to take on larger productions and longer-term partnerships.
